Yesterday, as Courtney & I were cooking together for the small, but as it turned out, very lovely New Year’s Eve party last night, he asked me what my favorite moment of 2008 was. It was a nice question; one of those questions that make you smile, because you start thinking of all the great moments you’ve had over the past year. What would you have answered?
Going home over the summer was a big deal for us – not only did the boys & I get to spend time with my family in Sweden, but we also got to go to the US together; visit Kentucky, and see family and friends that we hadn’t seen in five years! Early last year we also went on a very exciting trip to upper Egypt, and one of the moment I will never forget is watching the boys run off, raising my eyes and seeing them rush towards one of the most amazing monuments in world history; Abu Simbel. This was also the year that August really started reading well and actually completed first grade, all by our own efforts. Courtney survived his first full year as a Professor, and we made a baby.
In general, we’ve experienced a lot of things this past year – we’ve travelled, met people, and seen things – and it’s not only the general life we lead, but the little things that make it all special. I am so grateful for the wonderful time we’ve had in 2008, and I’m pretty sure 2009 holds some very special moments for us. I hope it does for you too!
